Sorry I haven't written in ages. We have been fairly busy, and I just haven't taken the time to post. I have some pics back from Valentine's and from our visit to the RainForest Cafe, so hopefully those will come soon.
2 weeks ago for Family Home Evening we went on a drive and decided to talk about nature. Benjamen loves nature and is always trying to preserve it and such, so it is a great topic in our family. We decided to sing the song "Whenever I Hear The Song of a Bird..." whatever the actual title is, I don't know. Anyway, when we were finished with our discussion, for fun we decided to put in our own words to that song. We tried to cater it to our lifestyle and climate here in TX. It was sooooo funny. We each took turns coming up with phrases in the song. We talked about the cactus and sticker burs, the scorching sun and rattling snakes. We went on and on. I really should have written it down. I think if we are ever in a talent show we will do this for our family act:)
We moved back here almost a year ago, and I have been awaiting some severe weather. Texas can have some pretty crazy weather, and I have missed that the last 8 years I have lived away from here. But since we have lived here, we have been in a drought and had basically no rain. Today we had a good thunderstorm. With it comes lightening, thunder and rain. We also had some hail. In our town, we were issued an emergency warning to expect wind up to 100 miles and hour with hail baseball size. Thank goodness that just missed us, although that would have made for a fun afternoon:) I have attached some photos, not from me, but from right around here.
